Storyline:
Diamond merchant Mansukhbhai (Irrfan Khan), the father of Vinesh and Paresh, a Gujarati-Jain, who abstains from meat, onions, garlic, seafood, potatoes, and everything with roots, attempts to negotiate a deal with a Hasidic woman, Rifka (Natalie Portman), who has just shaved her head in order to get married. He recalls his life with his wife, who left him to live a simple non-materialistic life, seeking alms in India, while he dreams of marrying Rifka; Abe (Eli Wallach) and Mitzie (Cloris Leachman) take a walk on their 63rd Wedding Anniversary; Ben (Hayden Christensen), a thief, attempts to befriend a woman, Molly (Rachel Bilson), but must content with her boyfriend, Garry (Andy Garcia); A writer tries to woo a woman but finds she is a hook*r; A boy takes a wheelchair bound girl as his prom date; Manny Dante (Carlos Acosta) takes Teya (Taylor Geare) to the park; An artist wants to draw a portrait of a woman who works in a Chinese herbal store. Review:
I just saw a press screening of this film and I was pleasantly surprised. Not often is it that I get to see all of my favorite actors in one film at one time.

I really enjoyed the pick pocket scene and it was good to see Rachael Bilson and Hayden back together. I think their chemistry on camera is a direct result of their time together off camera. My favorite scene was by far (surprisingly so) Bret Ratner's piece... Without giving too much away, I'll just say that there is a surprise that leaves you hanging...

The old couple were really good together and you actually got the impression that they had spent a lifetime together.

Both the Chris Cooper and the Ethan Hawke segments packed a punch with surprises that seem realistic and similar to experiences that I've had in the big apple. Over all the film is a great place to take a date... especially if you're already fond of the city itself.

Storyline:
Morten prepares for his studies the way his parents want him to. One day he gets to know the beautiful Theresa and falls in love with her. But he wonders about Theresa`s strange behavior. Sometimes she disappears for days and then she comes over to see him late at night. Morten notices that Theresa is lying. He follows her secretly to a casino. There he finds out that Theresa is a gambling addict. Later he even witnesses Theresa going to a hotel with a stranger who payed for her debts in the casino. Morten and Theresa argue and separate. But only a day later Theresa comes back and asks him for help. She promises to stop gambling. While Morten changes his own life and emancipates himself from his parents, it seems that Theresa never will be able to overcome her addiction.
